June 2010
“Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither
be thou dismayed: for the LORD thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.” Joshua 1:9
We are on countdown. One week from tomorrow, on July 1st, we will be in St Lucia again. It is hard to believe our 3rd furlough is over and we are starting our 4th term. We have had a rather unusual furlough. This past furlough, Sharon’s father went home to be with the Lord, I had major shoulder surgery, Sharon was found vitamin deficient, Kristen had major surgery with an 8 pound cyst being removed, and Sharon is pre-diabetic. Last week, I was diagnosed with two ulcers and acid reflux, and yesterday, Andrew & Kristen had their wisdom teeth removed. We have decided that we had better hurry up and get back to St Lucia before something else happens.
We praise the Lord that housing has opened up for us. We had it secured, then it wasn’t secured, then it was, and wasn’t again. On June 11th, it was made final and we can move in on July 1st.
Please pray for safety as we travel. Pray for direction as to where the Lord would have us to begin a new work. There are three areas that we are looking at. We need God’s wisdom and guidance as we try to find His will for us this term. Please pray that we can find the right vehicle for the ministry there.
Please also pray for the family as we make adjustments. We are leaving our oldest three daughters behind and only taking the youngest three with us. This will be a difficult adjustment for the family as we have always been together during the summer break and Christmas holidays. Our VBS workers and Christmas program directors are remaining here in Georgia, but they have already been active at our home church. There are still many details that need to be taken care of in the next week. Please do NOT pray for patience, but pray for God’s grace to be in us and all over us as we depart and resettle. During the move, we will not have internet or phone service. If you need to contact us for any reason, you can call our home church at 770-554-3482 and talk to Jenna. She will know how to contact us.
Thank you so much for making this furlough special for us. Even though we went through many difficult storms, the Lord used so many of you to be a blessing to our family. We are truly amazed at God’s provision for our lives. We are grateful for your faithful prayer and financial support.
Working together to reach the lost,
